What is You and Your General Practice?

You and Your General practice (YYGP) has been developed to help you understand what to expect from your general practice (GP) and how you can get the best from your GP practice team.

YYGP enables you to provide feedback or raise concerns directly with your GP practice, NHS Coventry and Warwickshire or your local Healthwatch organisation. Click here to read NHS England’s information about YYGP

Expected standards from patients and service users:

  • Treat all staff and other patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Use appointments responsibly and let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information about your health and personal details.
  • Follow medical advice and prescribed treatment, or discuss any concerns with us.
  • Use NHS resources wisely so that we can care for everyone who needs us.
  • Be patient and understanding – demand for NHS services is very high, and we will always do our best to help.
  • Give us feedback to help us improve our services.

Working together:

This charter is a two-way agreement. By working together with mutual respect and understanding, we can ensure the best possible care and experience for all our patients. We welcome feedback on local NHS services in the following ways:

At your GP practice:

If you want to give feedback, raise a concern or wish to make a formal complaint, please see complaints leaflet  on our website ask to speak to the practice manager.

 At your Integrated Care Board:

If you don’t feel comfortable giving your feedback to your GP Practice you can contact NHS Coventry and Warwickshire, your local Integrated Care Board – the local body that oversees GP practices. A dedicated email address has been set up for YYGP.

Email: cwicb.yygp@nhs.net

You can also visit the ICB Complaints page if you have a concern about your care, or the care of a family member.

 At your local Healthwatch organisation:

Healthwatch information and signposting services can support you to make choices about the health and care services you may need and how to access the support you need to live well within your local area. Click here for more information.
